Professional Background

Dr. Coox completed his medical training in Belgium, where he worked for more than 10 years in private practice. He has worked extensively in the Caribbean and in New Zealand in the field of general practice, emergency medicine, and musculoskeletal medicine. In 2012 he moved to Australia where he was awarded practice ACRRM fellowship in 2014. He’s a certified member of the Australian Association of Musculoskeletal Medicine.

His main areas of expertise and interest are musculoskeletal and sports medicine. Dr. Coox supports nonpharmacological, functional movement-based treatment options. He includes Dr. Stuart McGill’s system to create spinal stability, and puts a lot of emphasis on myofascial release techniques and trigger point treatments. He offers platelet-rich plasma injections as well as perineural prolotherapy.

Dr. Coox has also been involved in the continuous professional development of registrars and international medical graduates and enjoys educating colleague GPsin musculoskeletal medicine.

When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, bush hiking and doing CrossFit style training, strongman lifts, and kettlebell conditioning.
