Professional Background
Dr McKenzie grew up in the South West of Western Australia before moving to Sydney in 2000. She spent time working in Medical Administration and Finance before commencing her University studies. She completed a Bachelor in Medical Science at the University of Technology Sydney in 2005, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Sydney, graduating in March of 2010.
Following her move to Brisbane in 2012 she completed her General Practice Training and is now a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She enjoys all areas of medicine as well as balancing work as a GP with being a Mum to two beautiful little girls. She has a particular interest in the health of Veterans and their families, as she herself is the partner of a Veteran.
Dr McKenzie is truly passionate about the well-being of her patients and believes that evidence based, whole-person focused, high quality medicine can and does transform people’s lives. She also believes that the best outcomes are achieved when a person is respected, carefully listened to and empowered to be in charge of their own health. She values teamwork and when needed will link you in with appropriate specialists and allied health care professionals and work together with them in order to achieve your goals.
