DVA, Adult General Practicee

Professional Background

Life takes twists and turns, ups and downs, and sometimes we get whiplash…. What better place then GO2 health to work.
Like most, my life journey has not been predictable.

One of the things I love about being a GP with veterans and first responders, is I get to help those who have dedicated themselves to helping others.
I try hard in helping them optimise their bodies, minds and connections. Its a bio-psycho-social approach, and when teamed up with patients with those same goals, brings great results.

I loved history and maths at school, but did a physics degree, and ended up a science teacher. (Bachelor Science (physics) / Bachelor Teach (high school).
I enjoyed the social work aspect of teaching and ventured to the US, ending up in pastoral care and counselling. Master Arts / Diploma Counselling/ Lifecoaching)
My physics informed my philosophy of life and hey presto after several whiplashes later, I found myself studying medicine and watching the years race by. M.B.B.S / FRACGP

I have been a GP for 4 years now and privileged to have always had veterans and first responders gravitate toward my style of practice. My style can be frank, and a bit confronting at times, but I always endeavour to get the best possible outcomes. Life is about outcomes. I am told I bring a tough love approach to my practice, helping patients find health and wellbeing is my priority. I really do give a damn and will seek ways to help everyone on their life and health journey.

Being a GP is about giving a damn and trying to work things out with patients. I will say it like is, sometimes confronting, but I will go in to bat to help optimise your health, and mental wellbeing and experienced life. It will always come from a place of care, loyalty and seeking to honour you for who you are now and what you've done in your service.

I am very accepting, and as I have learnt this brings relief. I have heard plenty of true confessions previously unspoken. I'm a firm believer that honesty and acceptance in trust, brings relief from the inner storm.

I have trained in all aspects of GP care, and focussed interest in optimising men's health, musculoskeletal issues and mental health. Saying that I enjoy looking after all patients, children, young families trying to get pregnant, and your grandparents too.

As well as the DVA community at GO2 health, I have also developed an interest and focus in my practices on sexual health and obesity management and treatment.
