Dr Marie Andrews

DVA, Adult General Practice

Professional Background

Dr Marie Andrews is passionate about general practice and prides herself in providing comprehensive holistic care.

Dr Andrews received her medical degree (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery MBBS) from the University of Adelaide, South Australia in 2008. Since then she has acquired a broad breadth of training and experience in general practice working in remote and metropolitan locations across 4 states in Australia and being awarded her Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2017.

Commencing her medical training in South Australia, Dr Andrews worked in large tertiary hospitals in metropolitan Adelaide. After discovering her interest in General practice she started her training and worked in rural GP locations in Mount Gambier and Murray Bridge. This experience allowed her to acquire some skills which are quite unique to rural medicine. Relocating to Sydney, she then worked and trained in a busy metropolitan practice in Sydney’s western suburbs and continued her training in Perth Western Australia in 2 large busy metropolitan GP practices. Dr Andrews finally relocated to Brisbane in 2014 with her surgical specialist husband and has been able to utilise all of this experience to provide her patients with care to the absolute best of her abilities. She is also a mum of 3 young children who keep her busy during her days off.

Dr Andrews enjoys seeing a broad range of general practice and has special interests in mental health, women’s health, paediatrics as well as sexual health (she has experience in Implanon insertion and removal in rooms). Dr Andrews would be delighted to see new patients and share her passion for care.
