Dr Danny Coox combines his musculoskeletal GP practice with a functional approach to sports medicine and rehabilitation. Not looking to treat pain with medication, he uses exercise-based treatments to help his patients learn proper movement patterns to build their strength and mobility.
Recognising that imaging reveals only part of the story, Dr Danny performs functional diagnostic assessments to understand his patients’ concerns and develop targeted treatment plans. Drawing on his diagnostic expertise, he also happily offers his patients informed second opinions before they undergo invasive treatments. Alongside his exercise-based approach, his treatment toolkit includes injectable options, including low-dose steroids and PRP (platelet-rich plasma) when clinically indicated.
The rehabilitation programs at the clinic—which Dr Danny has personally developed, refined and continues to lead—occupy much of his professional time. Through ongoing research, he constantly improves the specialised programs for hip, lower limb, shoulder and back rehabilitation that run year-round at GO2 Health, with advanced functional training programs available in the winter months.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, bush hiking and throwing weights around – he’s keen to stay reasonably fit for an old bloke!
