Dr Ian Fraser

(she/her)

Biography

Dr Ian Fraser trained at Saint Bartholomew Hospital (St Barts) in London. Medicine runs in his veins with both his father and grandfather being doctors. After moving to Australia in 1973, he spent decades serving the Townsville community, gaining substantial experience in veterans’ healthcare.

His work in the field of PTSD and other defence-related injuries and illnesses has seen him as the “go-to” Medical Officer for ex-defence men and women. His understanding of military-related health issues extends beyond individual care to recognise their impact on families and communities.

Dr Ian also enjoys walks along the Brisbane River and is never short of a joke.
