Biography

Dr Richardy Hostiadi is an experienced General Practitioner who has been caring for patients across South-East Queensland since 2016. He is committed to delivering comprehensive, evidence-based healthcare for individuals and families at every stage of life, with a strong focus on prevention, lifestyle medicine, and long-term wellbeing.

Born in Indonesia, Dr Hostiadi moved to Australia in 1997 and speaks both English and Bahasa Indonesia fluently. He enjoys caring for patients from diverse cultural backgrounds and values building lasting relationships through compassionate, patient-centred care.

Before studying medicine, Dr Hostiadi completed a Bachelor of Science majoring in Computational Biology at the University of Queensland, followed by a Bachelor of Nursing. He worked as a Registered Nurse at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney before spending several years in the insurance industry, specialising in Workers Compensation, CTP, Life Insurance, Income Protection, and Total & Permanent Disability claims. This unique experience gave him valuable insight into injury management, occupational health, disability, and insurance-related medical conditions.

After graduating with his MBBS from the University of Queensland in 2013, Dr Hostiadi completed his hospital training at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, gaining broad experience across Emergency Medicine, Cardiology, Mental Health, Pain Medicine, Rehabilitation Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and Rural Medicine before achieving Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2018.

In addition to his civilian practice, Dr Hostiadi serves as a Medical Officer in the Royal Australian Navy Reserve and within the Australian Defence health system. His military training includes Aviation Medicine, Underwater Medicine, military trauma, and aeromedical evacuation, giving him particular expertise in the healthcare needs of current and former Australian Defence Force members and veterans.

Dr Hostiadi is passionate about Lifestyle Medicine and believes that good healthcare extends beyond prescribing medication. He works collaboratively with patients to optimise their health through nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, and sustainable lifestyle choices.

Outside of medicine, Dr Hostiadi enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle and has completed multiple half marathons, full marathons, obstacle course races, Hyrox events, and the Everest Base Camp trek. He lives with his wife, two young sons, and their beloved dog, and feels privileged to care for the local community.
