The challenge is on: GO2 Health Co-CEOs take on Kokoda

This September, our co-CEOs Rod and Kieran are lacing up their hiking boots for an incredible challenge – trekking the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea. But this isn’t just about conquering the legendary trail; it’s about supporting a cause close to their hearts and deeply aligned with our mission here at GO2 Health and REFORGE.

trojan's trek: the heart of the journey

At the centre of this adventure is Trojan’s Trek – an incredible organisation facilitating the Kokoda challenge and making a real difference in the lives of current and former military and emergency service personnel.

Trojan’s Trek run specialised wilderness experiences designed to help veterans reconnect with their core values, rebuild their sense of identity and develop practical strategies for moving forward in their transition to civilian life.

"Having served through five operational deployments myself and as a special ops doctor, I've seen firsthand how critical these transition periods are. Programs like this offer something traditional support services sometimes can't – peer-to-peer support, shared understanding and connection."

the challenge of kokoda

It’s fitting that Trojan’s Trek have chosen Kokoda. With profound historical significance in Australia’s military history, the 96km Kokoda Track is not for the faint-hearted. Rugged terrain, steep inclines and unpredictable weather make this historic trail a test of both physical and mental endurance – much like the journey many veterans face as they rebuild their lives after service.

The connection between Kokoda and what we do at GO2 Health and REFORGE is obvious. You dig deep, lean on your team and change along the way – and the strength you build doesn’t fade when the hard part is done.

friendly competition for a great cause

Of course, anyone who knows our co-founders won’t be surprised to hear there’s a bit of friendly rivalry brewing as they channel their competitive spirit into this challenge.

The questions on everyone’s mind:

Who’ll log more training hours?

Who’ll handle the mud better?

And perhaps most importantly – who’ll raise more funds for Trojan’s Trek?

join us and follow along

This is just the beginning of what promises to be an epic adventure. With training well underway, both Rod and Kieran would love your support. Every donation to Trojan’s Trek, big and small, helps veterans access these life-changing programs when they need them most.

We’ll be sharing regular updates as they prepare. Keep an eye out for upcoming blog posts featuring training insights, personal reflections and more about why this cause matters so much to the GO2 Health and REFORGE team.

Supporting veterans isn’t just what we do—it’s who we are. With every step along the Kokoda Track, Rod and Kieran will be walking that talk in the most literal way possible.

Stay tuned for the next update – and if you see either of them looking a bit weary at the clinic, you’ll know why!
